

Herbert “Les” RATLIFF, age 89, of Okeechobee, Florida and formerly of Somerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 2 at his home. He was born March 16, 1933 in Wolfe County, Kentucky and the oldest son of Courtney (Corsie) and Nannie Ratliff. Les worked at Magnode Products as a Factory/Press Operator for 34 ½ years. He was a member of The Moose Buckhead Ridge Lodge 2417. Les enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family, playing music, picking guitars, singing, dancing, drinking beer, playing cards and having fun. He followed the Kentucky Wildcats, Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds. He lived a full life as a father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Herbert cared deeply for his family. He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Linda Caudill of The Villages, Florida, Carolyn Durham of Hamilton, Ohio and Leslie Adams of Okeechobee, Florida; four grandchildren, Trisha (Katie Shannon) Lay of Beltsville, Maryland, Mindy (Maise) Morgan of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Amber (Trey) Adams of Reading, Ohio and Travis (Yvonne) Adams of Okeechobee, Florida; eight great-grandchildren; Sierra Durham, Adrian Shaw, Memphis Adams, Layla Hoffman, Nolan Hoffman, Eleanor Shannon-Lay, Lawson Shannon-Lay and Ryder Adams; five sisters, Mae (Ray) Ayers of Okeechobee, Florida, Judy Keith and Marlene Cozine of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Ethel Blevins of Garrard County Kentucky and Sheila Johns of Danville, Kentucky; three brothers, Elmer (Reecie) Ratliff of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Kash (Cathy) Ratliff of Okeechobee, Florida and Darrell Lykins of Lexington, Kentucky and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by wife Connie Ratliff who was taken too soon in 2013, Esther (Ratliff) Combs (Mother of his children), his brothers Chester, Roy and Sam Ratliff; his sisters Garnett Leach and Norma Cozine; and a very special brother-in-law Darrell Keith. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home on Ross Avenue in Hamilton, Ohio with Reverend James Anderson officiating.
