To everyone who took a moment to write something about Jess, it is very well received. My wife was a very caring person and only wanted the best for people and for them to be happy, something that is easier said than done, she lived to be that person. 

I will never forget beginning to play Broomball, and how it was difficult, at first, to fit in. It wasn't until the Summer of 2012, where I felt welcomed and included into the community. This was all thanks to Jessica. She drafted me to be a part of her team, for a day-long tournament, and never did I felt more included and welcomed. She kind, positive, and cheerful. I was still learning how to play, and she was patient with it. From that day on, I considered her to be a good friend. It was always exciting when she was on my team: not only because she was a good goalie, but our team would have that bright smile of hers. I'll never forget coming to her and Jason's housewarming party, and how well-decorated she made it. She took a lot of pride in her career. She always talk about her laboratory work whenever we talked. Finally, she had an amazing husband in Jason, who took well care of her through good times and bad. She was surrounded by good friends and a good husband. I never got the chance to met her family, but I most certainly assume she was surrounded by great family members. While she was surrounded by great friends, a great husband, and a great family, we were surrounded by a great person in Jessica

So very sorry to learn of Jess’s passing. I remember her fondly as a student at AK.  She was a great kid!

Besides being smart, funny, a good friend and a great athlete, she loved fishing and Bill loved fishing with her. 
We are just heart broken to learn of Jessica’s passing.

I haven’t quite processed this yet, as I’m sure many haven’t. Jessica helped me get through many tough high school years - she was my pitcher and I, her catcher. No one will ever replace her or her memory. My RJ. Love you, always.

I dare say most pictures when Jess knew you were taking one look like this. She was a beautiful person, inside and out, but hated her picture being taken, so of course I tried to get her every chance I got like a good friend would do lol. We traveled to many broomball tournaments together. To say the least, Jess was a “little” bit directionally challenged so generally traveled with someone else. I remember one tournament she had to travel on her own due to work. She arrived at the airport late and missed her flight. She luckily was able to book another flight, but it did not arrive until after midnight. She was worried about how to get to the hotel once she landed, so I told her not to worry, Matt or I would be waiting inside the airport for her when she arrived. Matt was the lucky one to go in while I circled the airport. I remember he said he had never been hugged so hard in his life. I got to experience those hugs several times from her over the years, and I’m grateful for everyone. I have so many memories with Jess and a few pictures to remember all the adventures we had. I miss you so much my friend, but I’m glad you’re no longer in pain. Till we meet again... love you.

I sat next to Jess on the flight from Minnesota to Ohio after the 2011 broomball national tournament and vowed we were going to get in better shape and play lots of broomball to improve our skills to make a run in 2012.  Since then, she's always been "My goalie" and I was "My captain" to her.   However, we all loved Jess off the ice even more than on the ice.  I already miss her laugh and our story telling.  For those interested, we did win Nationals in 2012 and this photo is from the 2017 Pittsburgh tournament.  I am happy that all your pain is gone but I miss you.
