

Lil' John Guenthner, age 63 of Hamilton, passed away at Bethesda Butler Hospital on Thursday, June 19, 2014. He was born in Hamilton on April 10, 1951, the son of John Phillip and Virginia (Phelps) Guenthner. John was a Navy veteran, having served two tours in Vietnam. On June 12, 1971 in Ross, Ohio he married Betty R. Butler. John had retired as a security guard. He was a member of AMVETS Post #2012 and VFW Chuck Cain Post #7670. John enjoyed entertaining the community serving as a DJ at parties. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Betty Guenthner; his children, Bryon (Christina) Guenthner, Michael John Guenthner (Kim), Kimmy (Bobby) Baker, Donna Blanton (Mark) and Tina Guenthner, 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Mike (Emma) Guenthner; sister, Ruthann (the late Cliff) Banks; close friend, George “Buster” Pike; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Virginia Guenthner; granddaughter, Jaelynn McKinney; and brother, William Phillip Guenthner. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service with Pastor Paul Hensley officiating will be held Friday, June 27, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Power House of Praise, 1720 West Elkton Road, Hamilton, Ohio 45013.
