Laura Jean Chafin (McCollum), age 64 of Hamilton, passed away at Kettering Medical Center on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 10:59AM. She was born in Hamilton on January 9, 1951 to Carl and Violet McCollum. She dedicated her life to her family and her dogs. She was married to Walt Chafin on November 17, 1983 in Hamilton, OH.

She is survived by her husband, Walt Chafin; two daughters, Annette (Jerry) Koons and

Carla (Harold) Sarver; five grandchildren, Willy, Kyle, Katy, Destiny, and Kayla; one sister, Carlotta Cook; two step children, Alisha and Andrew; many nieces and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by parents Carl and Violet McCollum; and one son Gerald Hooker.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Butler County SPCA.
