Lois Ross, Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, Lois Ross, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2022 at Hospice of Hamilton. She was born on June 6, 1936 to the late Casper and Virgie Imhoff, and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1954. On January 5, 1959, she married the late Dorman Ross. They had two children, daughter Cynthia (David) Cravit, of Toronto, Canada and son Dale, of Hamilton, and three grandchildren – Rachel, of Charleston, SC and Nathaniel and Nicholas, of Toronto.
Lois was a remarkable woman who combined an abundance of energy and talent with a deep and abiding faith. She was an accomplished athlete, artist, cook, and home decorator, while at the same time being active in her church, First Baptist Church of Hamilton. For her children and grandchildren, she was a non-stop source of love, kindness and wisdom, always interested and engaged in what they were doing (and travelling to be with them at places as far afield as Toronto, Chicago and Northern Michigan).
Her 54-year marriage to Dorman was an inspiring model of love, energy and support, as they pursued busy careers (Lois worked at Sears and First Financial) and numerous pastimes ranging from round dancing and clogging to their annual winter stay in South Texas.
Lois leaves a rich legacy of memories, examples she set and life lessons she imparted. She will be deeply missed, but at the same time her presence will continue to inspire.
Private family funeral service. A celebration of Lois’ life will be announced in the future.
