Marie A. Sargent

Marie A. Sargent, age 102, Hamilton died Thursday, July 2, 2015 at her residence. She was born May 24, 1913 in Hamilton, the daughter of Sebastian and Mary (Winkler) Brunner. She married Robert Sargent in Brookville, Indiana on December 24, 1941 and he preceded her in death April 12, 1999. Together, Marie and her husband, Bob Sargent had an orchard on Fairfield Road in Oxford Township. Years later they moved to a farm on Woodruff Road in Oxford where they raised cattle and pigs and also farmed. In 1973 they both retired from farming and sold the farm. She had been employed as a paper sorter at Champion International for 32 years retiring March 1, 1969. Marie was a member of Richmond Road Baptist Church. She is survived by a sister, Marjorie Wilkerson, Hamilton; a sister-in-law, Sally Perry, Middletown, a brother-in-law, Ralph Geurin, Hamilton and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Louis, Charles and Wilbert Brunner and four sisters, Loretta Briggs, Laverne Geurin, Josephine Smith and Clementine Brunner.
