Marjorie Mae Rowland

Marj was a proud graduate of Hamilton High and faithfully attended get-togethers with her fellow ‘46ers. Marj worked at Russell’s Dress Shop as an accountant and in sales. Marj was an avid walker and loved working in her yard. She loved spending time with friends playing cards and having a drink. Marj lived at Westover Retirement Community for the last 6 years. Because of the time she spent in each area of the facility, we have come to know a lot of the staff at Westover and would like to extend our warmest “thank you” for your care of “Nana” over the years! She was a member of First St. John UCC for many years, and most recently had been attending Grace United Methodist Church. She married Robert Rowland on 11/5/55. Marj was preceded in death by her husband Robert Rowland, her mother Marguerite Jones, her son Daniel Rowland, and her grandson Christian Henderson. She found a wonderful friend in Eldon Burns. He was able to bring happiness and several trips out west, until his death in 2017. She is survived by her two daughters Betsy Morgan and Donna (Greg) Henderson, and a half-brother John Dingeldine. Marj has four grandchildren, Melissa (Russell) Gettler, Adeline Morgan, Anna Rowland and Noah Henderson, and 2 great-grandchildren, Braylon and Brooklyn Gettler. In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Donation can be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 1200 Main St., Hamilton, OH 45013. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am on Saturday 4/7/18 at Westover Activity Center, 855 Stahlheber Rd., Hamilton, OH 45013 with Pastor Randy Stearns officiating.
