

Marjorie Adelle Starkie, age 92, formerly of Guilford Lake, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Westover Retirement Community in Hamilton, Ohio. Marjorie was born in Salem, Ohio on January 19, 1922, the daughter of Clyde and Myrtle (Horn) Hanna. She graduated from David Anderson High School in Lisbon, Ohio in 1940. She was united in marriage with James Starkie on June 10, 1942. Marjorie had been a 4-H leader, a Deputy Grand Matron of the Eastern Star, and an aide at Bycroft School in Columbiana County. She loved traveling, reading, and church work. She was a former member of St. Jacob's Church in Leetonia and a member of Carlson Memorial United Methodist Church in LaBelle, Florida. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Susanne; husband, James on November 15, 2010; and brothers Leroy and Richard Hanna. She is survived by her son J. Randall (Nancy) Starkie of Hamilton; cherished grandsons Zach Starkie of Cincinnati and Ben Starkie of Dallas, TX; sister-in-law, Myrtle Hanna; brother-in-law Robert (Annie) Huffnagle; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends. The family wishes to thank the Westover Healthcare staff and Crossroads Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Westover Retirement Community. A Memorial Service will be held at Westover Retirement Community on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 10 a.m. Cremation has taken place.
