Mavy Maggard

Age 87, of Hamilton, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015. She was born in Leslie County, Kentucky on April 17, 1927 the daughter of Bill and Orlena (Baker) Coots. On December 27, 1943 she married Elmer W. Maggard who preceded her in death on February 28, 1976. She is survived by her children J. Harold (Coralie) Maggard, Louise McCracken, Darrel (Fieona) Maggard, Randy J.(Becky) Maggard, Paulett (Dominick) Rampa, Melissa (Oak Goins) Lakes, Cathy Sue (Mike) Cahill. Her grandchildren Jamie (Lynn) Maggard, Monica (Troy) Brelsford, Robin (Michael Hackman) McCracken, Mike (Kelly) McCracken, Tina (Mark) Pate, Wayne Maggard, Jeff (Raquel) Maggard, Tammy Sue (Joe) Gamble, Miranda Maggard, Connie Howard, Digger (Kazuki Yamakawa) Howard, Kim Greene, Emma (Eric) Pearson, Mike Cahill and Ellie Cahill, her 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. She is survived by her siblings Rex (Lottie) Coots, Iona North, Edna Mae North and Jewell Hacker, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by 2 son-in-laws, 5 sisters, and 3 brothers. Mavy was a member of Laurel Ave. Church of Christ for 39 years. She truly was a Proverbs 31 woman. Proverbs 31:28 “Her children rise up and call her blessed.” Mavy loved to cook for her family and enjoyed holidays, Sunday dinners, and a “Mammaw breakfast.” Visitation will be held Friday, February 6th at Laurel Ave. Church of Christ, 1049 Laurel Ave. Hamilton, OH from 10 am to time of funeral services at 12 noon with Pastor Charles H. Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.
