Mildred L. "Millie" Probst age 95, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in Berkeley Square. She was born in Hamilton on May 17, 1919, the daughter of Edward and Dora (McVicker) Thome. She married John E. Probst in 1942 and he preceded her in death in August of 1976. Mildred was a graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Hamilton, Ohio in 1940 and she worked as an RN at various hospitals. She was a life-time member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Darrtown, Ohio and was honored on May 15, 2005 for 25 years of service as the treasurer of the church. She is survived by her brother, George (Faye) W. Thome, Darrtown and nieces Linda (Mark) Habel, Hamilton, Lisa (Dan) Niehaus, West Chester, Judy Mannix, Maineville and Gretchen (Nigel Tashley) Probst, Dayton, nephews, Alan (Tammy) Thome, Oxford and Edward (Sharon) Probst, Dayton; eight great nieces and nephews and seven great, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Alford and her husband. She was a Triad member from 1997-2004, obtained her amateur radio license on March 20, 1955, a member of the YWCA board for many years and in 1993 she was awarded the "Outstanding Women of Achievement Award". She was a member of the Cincinnati Weaver's Guild, she won many awards at the Senior Olympics for swimming, was a member and National President of Kappa Delta Phi sorority. In the early 1960's she started the "Palette Club", she loved her flower garden, deer, bird watching and her pet dachshund "Zucker".
