Having lived an abundant, faith-filled life, Nancy S. Mitchell was called home to her eternal reward on Thursday, March 31st, 2022 in Houston, Texas. A former resident of Fairfield, Ohio, she leaves behind a legacy of love to her family and friends. Nancy Sue was born on October 20th, 1938, and was the youngest daughter of the late Daniel Bowman and Mary Williams Bowman. Growing up in Greenhills, she graduated from Greenhills High School, and in 1959, married her childhood sweetheart, Frederick W Mitchell III. Together, Nancy and Fred had three children in Fairfield. She lovingly cared for Fred until his death in 1992. Nancy worked for Second National Bank as a teller and later assistant manager. After retiring, Nancy became a Hospice Volunteer and later a Volunteer Coordinator. Nancy moved to Florida in 1993 and enjoyed the love of golf and the work she did with Stevens Ministry. In 2015, Nancy moved to Houston, Texas, to be closer to her daughter. She was an avid Ohio State University, Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds fan and spent many an afternoon, watching and cheering on her favorite teams.
Nancy faced the challenges of her life with a fiery determination that was an inspiration to all. She was warm, gracious, joyful, a practical joker and a loving influence in every life she touched. Nancy is survived by her sister Mary Jo Bowman Nehring (Dick); daughter, Kathy Mitchel Auth (Dan), son Fred W. Mitchell IV, Todd Mitchell (Teresa); six grandchildren, Britney (Ray), Jessica, Sarah (Tom), Mitchell (Alma), Leah (Richard) and Hunter (Lauren); ten great grand children; Allessandra and Titus Auth; Wrensley, Willow and Wright Goode; Austin Baer, William and McKenna van Praag; Brooklyn Cox, Alivia Mitchell. She is also survived by her nieces, Dawn Nehring, Denise Nehring Hatfield (Ronald), and Michelle Nehring Smith (Jeff), Amy Mitchell (Henry), and dear friends, Judy and Larry Langdon and Suiki Boardman. Nancy's family is eternally grateful for Suiki, Freddie, Ann Marie, Adama and Tutu for the endless love and care they gave her during her journey with Alzheimer's. In lieu of flowers, Nancy's family ask that you consider a donation in her honor to your favorite charity. Graveside services will be held at 12pm on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Arlington Memorial Gardens, Cincinnati, Ohio. Condolences may be left for the family at www.Webb-Noonan.com
