Robert Lee Townsend

Robert (Bob) Lee Townsend, aged 85, of West Chester, passed away November 25, 2025. Robert was born October 6, 1940 in Hickman County, KY to the late John S. and Della (Dunn) Townsend; also preceding him in death are his beloved wife of 61 years, Rose Marie (Webb) Townsend in August 2022, siblings John and Bill Townsend and infant sisters Willa Dean and Peggy Sue Townsend.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter Gale (Devin) Goodman, son Robert Townsend, grandchildren Josh (Karen) Goodman, Kayla (Andrew) Goodman, Savannah (Mason) Smith. Also surviving are his brother J. D. Townsend, cousin Roy Townsend, brother-in-law Ron Roederer, numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Robert attended Ahrens High School in Louisville, KY. He was an auto mechanic and worked at Tafel Motors in Louisville where he serviced Mercedes Benz automobiles and in 1975 was awarded the Star Technician Award from Mercedes Benz of North America. He moved to Ohio and worked at Performance Automotive from 1977 - 2008 before retiring. Robert loved bowling, motorcycles, auto racing, especially the Indianapolis 500. Most importantly, Robert loved his family and being with them.

Robert's family will receive friends at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 2565 Princeton Road, Hamilton, Ohio, 45011, Tuesday, December 2, 2025, starting at 10:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Mark Gregory presiding. Following services, Robert will be buried in Rose Hill Burial Park, 2421 Princeton Road, Hamilton next to his beloved Rose Marie.
