She was born on February 1, 1930 to the late Rufus F. and Rethia {Barnett} Thomas. Rosa married Billy K. Venable on June 11, 1948 in Georgetown, Kentucky. She was a proud homemaker all of her life. Rosa enjoyed taking care of her home, garden, and family. She loved being surrounded by her family. Rosa is survived by her husband of 70 years; children Robert L. (Debra) Venable, Joanna Venable, Connie Jean (Juan) Parras; grandchildren Dawn, Andrea, Cynsonya, Matthew, Mark, Sean, Tonya, Reagan, Heather, Holly; many wonderful great and great-great grandchildren; siblings Russell (Betty) Thomas and Rita (Dan) Johnson; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings R.W. (Lois) Thomas, Ronald (Bernice) Thomas, Ruby (Denville) Winkler, Ruth (Bill) Agee, Rina Ambrose, Roy Thomas, great grandsons Derick Davis, Kyle Davis, Keith James Venable, and great granddaughter Arianette Catalina Irwin. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 2pm at the Rose Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will take place two hours prior to the service on Friday from 12pm to 2pm at the funeral home. Burial at Rose Hill Burial Park. The family would like to thank Queen City Hospice.
