Ruth LaVerne Moore

Ruth LaVerne Moore, age 82 of Hamilton, passed away at Woodlands of Hamilton on Sunday May 3, 2015. She was born in Hamilton on February 1, 1933 the daughter of Ira and Ruby (Adams) McHone. In 1951 she married the love of her life, Joseph Moore. They were married over 11 years when he passed away in 1963. Ruth was a proof reader at the Hamilton Journal for several years. She was also employed in housekeeping at Century Lakes Apartments for 8 years. Ruth was a member of VFW Post 7670 for over 50 years. She was an avid reader, having read thousands of books. Ruth was artistic by nature, loved animals, and enjoyed babysitting. She is survived by her daughter, Melinda (Frank) Petrek; her son, David Moore; grandchildren, Mallory (Mark) Burchnall, Kristen Petrek, Samantha Moore, and Madison Moore. She was preceded in death by her father, Ira McHone; her mother and step-father, Ruby and Rodgers Yeakle; her husband; and a sister, Doris (Andy) Lambros. Visitation will be held at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, 240 Ross Ave. on Wednesday, May 6th from 12 noon until time of Funeral Services at 2:00 PM with Rev. Tyler Pettigrew officiating.
