Wanda Mays, age 67 of Hamilton, passed away at her residence surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 4:55PM. She was born in Hendersonville, NC on September 8, 1947. Wanda was employed at Inloes Heating and Cooling. On June 18, 1965 in Hamilton she married Clyde William Mays. Wanda's biggest joy in life was watching her grandchildren play sports and dance. She found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Clyde William Mays; her mother, Kitty Grant; her two daughters, Angela (CJ) Clemons and Jennifer (Mike) Robbins; four grandchildren, Courtney, Adam, Brooke, and Casey; five brother and sister in laws, Michael (Debbie) Mays, Donna (Butch) Varner, Paula Sams, Pam (Mark) Philpot, and Mark (Frieda) Mays; nephew Dennis (Diana) Howard and George Howard; many nieces, nephews, and a very close knit group of friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Glenda Asher; her brother, Rick Grant; her mother and father in law, Clyde and Hazel Mays; sister and brother in laws, Janet and Bub Varner, and Greg Sams.

Willie, Angie & Jennie, altho we never became acquainted, I'm sorry for your lose. Willie your father Clyde was my double first cousin and we knew him well, he use to live with us in Hamilton as a young man. My parents are Jimmy and Ethel Hoover whom you probably knew well. I'm sorry about Wanda and for all I've read about her she seemed like a wonderful person. You have my sincere sympathies and I shall be praying for peace for you and your daughters.
