MEADE, Wendell D. (Captain OHWG/CV-S) Age 65 of Hamilton passed Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Fort Hamilton Hospital after an untimely death. He was born March 20, 1949 in Cumberland, KY, the son of William and Erma (Scott) Meade. Wendell served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1967-1970. On July 7, 2007 he married Kimberly Berhalter in Gatlinburg, TN. His life of service continued at the Butler County Sheriff's Office, retiring as Captain. Most recently, he was a Captain for the Civil Air Patrol. Wendell's accolades are too numerous to mention, therefore, he would say, "Let's cut to the bottom line". The bottom line is ... his entire life was in service for others. Family, Country and Community. Wendell was loved and will be sadly missed. This one is for you Brother, we thank you! He leaves behind his loving family: wife Kimberly (nee Berhalter) Meade; brother, Roger (Carol) Meade; children, Tina (Randy) Leibrock, and Angela Nance; step-children, Lisa (Buddy) Baker, Aaron Short (Tamia); grandchildren, Christopher (Amanda) Leibrock, Corey Leibrock, Caitlyn Leibrock, Brock Meade, Dale Nance, Leeann Nance, and Brenten Baker; and great-grandchildren, Jayden and Ella Leibrock; and other family, Matthew (Jennifer) Meade, Shannon Meade, Cameron, and mother-in-law, Helen Berhalter. Wendell was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks for all of the love, care, and outpouring support during this difficult time.
