Alice Cynthia Rapcewicz

She was born on August 13, 1938, in Hamilton, Ontario where she grew up with a devoted family, filled with love, joy and happiness. She worked as a hairdresser, with her loving Auntie Sylvia, at Sylvia’s Hair Salon on Barton Street. She enjoyed visiting and spending time with the customers who came in, as well as learning from and spending time with Auntie Sylvia and other family members.

Alice enjoyed working outside in her garden during the summer months. She had a passion and love for animals, having had many pets in her life and most recently, her beloved cat, Missy. She is preceded in death by her father, Michael Rapcewicz and her mother, Josephine Rapcewicz. She is survived by her loving brother, Henry Rapcewicz, nephews Mark Rapcewicz (Andrea Thorburn), Brian Rapcewicz (Renee Provencher), and niece, Michelle Biegler (nee Rapcewicz, Jordan Biegler). She is also survived by her great nephews and nieces, Sophia and Graeme Rapcewicz, Sonija and Owain Rapcewicz and Atticus Biegler, all from Alberta.

The family would like to thank the staff and physicians at St. Joseph’s Hospital, for the care and compassion they showed for Alice, in her final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at Cresmount Funeral Home – Fennell Chapel, 322 Fennell Ave East, Hamilton, Ontario on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 1pm. Reception to follow the service.
