Peacefully at home on Sunday March 15, 2015 in her 63rd year, surrounded by her loving family, and after a long and courageous fight with ovarian cancer, Anne was called to be with her Lord and Saviour in Heaven. Her pain and suffering have ended. Beloved wife of Bob for 42 years. Loving mother of Elizabeth Vaillancourt (Larry), James (Becky) and Bonnie Horvat (Roy). Much loved Grandma of David, Sarah-Beth, Emily and Owen. Dear sister of Jane, Ken and Charlie (predeceased). Predeceased by her parents Edith and Roy Kirvan. Anne was born and raised in Hamilton. Attended Sts. Peter and Paul and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Schools and Westmount Secondary School. Anne was a graduate of Mohawk/McMaster School of Nursing where she received her R.N. She later attended Brock University where the degree of B.Sc.N.(H) was conferred. Her career path was focused on community nursing. Anne worked as a Travel Medicine Clinic Nurse in Ancaster until unable to continue due to ill health. Before becoming ill she was a volunteer with the Victim Services Unit of the Hamilton Police Service where she became a Team Leader. Anne was a member of St. Columba Presbyterian Church, an elder, a past President and an Honorary Life Member of the Woman's Missionary Society. Anne loved to cross stitch, do jigsaw puzzles, read books on her Kobo to the wee hours of the morning and above all enjoyed the faithful companionship of her beloved miniature schnauzer "Winnie". Anne's family will receive friends at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Ave. E., on Wednesday, March 18th from 6-9 p.m. and will continue on Thursday, March 19th from 11-1 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, March 19th at 1 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Main St. W., Hamilton. It was Anne's request that in lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Ovarian Cancer Society of Canada.
Loving and kind in all her ways,
Upright and just
to the end of her days.
Sincere and true in her heart and mind;
And while she lies in peaceful sleep, her memory we shall always keep.
In my heart forever....Bob
