Audrey Fedyczko-Stanley

Peacefully, after a two year illness with melanoma, Audrey slipped away on Christmas morning, having celebrated her 91st birthday just two days earlier. Born in the village of Beighton, England on December 23, 1930, Audrey was predeceased at the age of five years by her mother, Jesse, and in later years her father, Wilfred Baker; her brother Jeffrey Baker; her infant sister; and her first husband, Michael Fedyczko (1994). Leaving to mourn are her beloved husband, Victor Stanley; her children, Peter Fedyczko (Jan) and Helen Rudy (Bob); her grandchildren: Robyn Rudy, Jocelyn Rijgersberg (Brandon) and Justin Fedyczko (Paige); and her great grandchildren: Ryleigh Buckingham, Michael and Selene Rijgersberg. Audrey served in the British Land Army during WWII. Audrey and Michael immigrated to Canada in 1956 where they made a happy, active, social life for themselves. Following Michael’s death in 1994, Audrey had the good fortune to meet Vic in 1998 whom she married on Valentine’s Day in 2015. Audrey enjoyed bowling, cards, travel, gardening and knitting. She was a kind, generous, loving mother and excelled in her roles of Nana and ‘Big Nana’ to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom she adored. Audrey bore her illness with dignity and humour, responding just the week before she died when asked what she thought of all the fuss around her: “I like it. I might try it again.” The family wishes to thank Dr. Chu, Audrey’s family doctor, for his excellent care during her illness. All visitors will be required to wear a face covering, as well as provide name and telephone number to funeral home staff. Memorial Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Thursday January 6, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Graveside funeral Service/Interment will be held at Mount Hamilton Cemetery, 260 Rymal Rd E, following visitation at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, family ask that you consider a donation to a charity of your choice.
