A natural athlete, Barbara was a Cheerleader and actively involved in Track and Field at Dundas High School, curled with her father, and worked as a lifeguard in the summers at the Dundas Driving Park. At this park, she picked up the game of Tennis and was ultimately introduced to her husband Edwin at the Dundas Tennis Club.
A graduate of the Wellesley School of Nursing in 1957, Barbara was a dedicated nurse at Toronto General, Wellesley Hospital and Sick Children’s Hospital before relocating back to her hometown of Dundas where she initially worked with Dr. Hugh McCoy, and then Dr. Morris Levine in Hamilton while also occasionally assisting her father Dr. Easter in his dental practice. After retiring from nursing she continued as a dedicated caregiver, providing love and support to all those her knew her.
Barbara’s love of Art and Music will be remembered by many – if she wasn’t painting or sketching, she was playing her piano and would play nearly any tune by ear.
The family would like to thank the Nurses, PSW’s and staff at Southlake Residential Care Village in Newmarket for their kindness and care to Barbara for the past three years.
