Mom will be so missed by her children Chris (Arista), Paul (Cindy) and Connie (Graham), and grandchildren Colin (Alyssa), Cameron (Amelia), Alex (Mitchell, and great grandson baby Cameron).
Carole was predeceased by her husband of 32 years, Charles Ross Rodgers, in 1988. They shared many adventures raising us kids while moving around the country with Dad’s employment at the bank. Mom worked in banking too when they met, as well as when we kids kids got older. Mom, fondly nicknamed ‘Champ’ in childhood by her family, was predeceased by her parents Carl and Queenie McDougall as well as her siblings Joe, Doug, Verlie and Beverly.
Carole and her best friend from childhood, Elizabeth “Betty” Guy, shared a deep and special bond throughout Mom’s whole life.
Mom loved sports, playing basketball in school and later, tennis. You could often find her watching a Toronto Maple Leafs game, or tennis matches on TV. She maintained that competitive spirit even in her Scrabble and card games. She was tough to beat.
Her main focus was always family. We love and miss you, Mom.
A small family gathering will take place in the future.
Donations are gratefully accepted and may be sent to Innisfree Hospice House, Kitchener, Ontario.
