Suddenly at her residence in Hamilton on Friday, June 21, 2013 in her 61st year, Catherine went to be with her Lord and Saviour. Predeceased by her parents, Harry and Molly Butler. Beloved mother of Stephanie Seagrove (Phil) and cherished Nana of Noah and Jonas. Also survived by relatives in Scotland and Germany. Catherine was born in Glasgow, Scotland and came to Canada as a young teenager. Catherine was a quiet and often shy woman, never wanting to draw and attention to herself but she was a Godly woman and a woman of great character. Family was very important to Catherine. She considered it a privilege to sacrificially care for her mother until her mother's death in 2007. For the last number of years she continued that love and support in the care of her 2 grandsons who absolutely loved and adored their Nana. A woman of high intellect, she was very well read and knowledgable in a broad range of subjects. No one could beat Nana in Jeopardy. Catherine was always striving to put God first in her life. She studied her Bible and tried her best to live out her Christianity. While she was limited by health and arthritis, she knew that she could always support people through prayer and would often be found in her room praying for friends, relatives or even people she didn't know. Friends may call at the Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Avenue East on Monday from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Service from West Highland Baptist Church, 1605 Garth Street, on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.
