Charlotte was blessed to have had 68 years with the love of her life, John A. McKenna (predeceased 2017). Charlotte's strength and beauty continues to live on through her children Bill, Susan (Mike), Maureen, Jack (Lynda), Cathy (predeceased Gary), Barbara (Mike), and Judy. She will be forever cherished by her grandchildren Emma, Tricia, Megen, Samantha, Jarrett, Kayleigh, Michael, Brogan, Laura, Courtney, and Joyce. She was a devoted member of Regina Mundi parish and will be deeply missed by her great grandchildren and family in Nova Scotia. Charlotte was born in the picturesque town of Springhill, Nova Scotia. It is here that she met her one true love, John, and the two moved to Ontario to start their family in 1949. She had a passion for teaching others, which was put to good use as a Teacher’s Aide and a devoted mother of seven. Those that knew Charlotte knew her to be a strong woman with a quick wit and a love of laughter. She never left the house without her beautiful jewellery and warm smile; a true lady through and through. Charlotte had a great love of music, and was especially fond of “You Are My Sunshine”. We will forevermore have our own piece of sun shining down on us.
“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You'll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away”
Keeping with current COVID-19 restrictions a private family service and interment will take place. Donations in Charlotte's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
