Mr. Clifford John Whittington

WHITTINGTON, Clifford John – On July 31, 2009 at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Walkerton, passed away peacefully in the loving presence of his family, in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Jessie (nee Reid) for 64 years. Cherished father of Grace Anne and husband Bill Wilson of Kincardine. Dearly loved Grandpa of Craig Wilson and Jenna Wilson. Papa to beloved Great Grandson Connor Wilson. Dear brother of Dorothy Smith of Hamilton. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents John and Grace (Thomson) Whittington, brothers-in-law John M. Smith, Robert Hill and sister-in-law Anne Hill. Served in World War II overseas as a Flying Officer in the RCAF Radar Division. Devoted lifelong member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Hamilton, serving as Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent. Choir member, elder and Clerk of Session. Retired from Procter and Gamble Hamilton. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at The Marlatt Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 615 Main St. East (east of Sanford), on Thursday August 6, 2009 from 12 – 2 pm, where service will be held at 2pm. Interment to follow in the Whittington family plot in the Hamilton Cemetery. Dad was a true example of a Christian gentleman.
