

Cosimo was a loving husband and best friend to Emily for 35 wonderful years, cherished Papa of Amanda (Vincent), Christina (Norbert), and Cosimo Jr (Taylor), a proud Nonno to grandsons, Luca and Cristiano, and is survived by his parents Charlie and Connie Amore and siblings Josie (Sam), Franca (Derek), Angelo and brother-in-law Lino Chiovitti (Rose). Predeceased by his youngest brother Steve. Cosimo will always be lovingly remembered by his mother-in-law Antonietta Chiovitti (the late Carmine).
Cosimo will be dearly missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He will also be fondly remembered by his many friends in the neighbourhood. Cosimo retired from the City of Hamilton after 33 years of dedicated service, where he will be remembered by his work family.
Cosimo will always be remembered for his love of being around family and friends and making everyone laugh and smile with his incredible sense of humour. He often loved spending warm summer days at Sherkston Shores and in his “Porta Backyarda” wearing his Captain Morgans, gardening and maintaining the house, visiting Niagara Falls and enjoying picnics at his favourite family park. Cosimo was an enthusiastic Toronto Maple Leafs Fan, loved watching horror films, and always enjoyed celebrating all the holidays with fun family traditions.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful C3 and ICU teams at Juravinski Hospital, as well as the nurses and home care aides for the compassionate and dedicated care over the years.
A visitation for Cosimo will be held at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Monday, December 11, 2023 from 4-8 pm.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, 200 Mt Albion Road, Hamilton on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 10 am. Entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
