

Beloved husband of Beverley (nee Craig) for 62 years, they were married on Valentine's Day, 1964.
Loving father of Doug Hoover and Patti (Don) Cook and proud Grandpa to Harold Hoover, Danielle (Brad) Nadeau, and Shane Cook and great-grandfather of Molly and Hazel.
He will also be lovingly remembered by his siblings Jim and his wife Maggie, Wendy, and Penny, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his sisters Catherine, Joan, and Beth.
He grew up on the family farm in Selkirk, Ontario, along the shores of Lake Erie. He worked at Stelco as a Millwright in the Number 2 Rod Mill. He bowled weekly with the Stelco Bowling League and after retirement he enjoyed golfing as well. He achieved 3 perfect games in bowling, which is pretty amazing. He was a longtime member of the Binbrook Lions Club.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends are invited to Memorial Visitation at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton on Thursday, March 5th from 2 - 4 pm and 6:30 - 8 pm. The Memorial Service to celebrate his life will take place at St. John United Church, 195 East 38th Street, Hamilton on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 11 am.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to City Kidz or St. John United Church would be appreciated by the family.
