Debbie Yakiwchuk

Peacefully passed away surrounded by her family and their love on August 22, 2023, at the age of 68. Devoted wife, companion and love of her husband Robert, spending close to 50 years by each other’s side.

Loving mother to Amy (Jeff) and Chrissy (Ian) and grandma to Kaya and William. Her whole world was her family and her friends, especially her grandchildren. Kaya and William adored their Grandma and they shared so many special times together that will always be cherished. Debbie was pre-deceased by her loving parents, Daniel and Victoria Szportan. She had a close and special bond with her sisters the late Diana (John) and Dale (Russ) and many nieces, nephews and other family.

Family and friends are welcome to visit on Friday August 25, 2023 at Markey Dermody Funeral Home at 1774 King Street East in Hamilton from 10:00am - 12:00pm. A reception will follow at The Powerhouse Restaurant at 21 Jones Street, Stoney Creek at 1:00pm.

Donations will be accepted to the Canadian Cancer Society in honour of Debbie. We will miss her every day and rely on her strength, positivity, compassion, love and many memories of her, for all of the days that follow.
