Thank you so much for all your kind words and thoughts. We are truly blessed with the best friends, neighbours and family that have supported us through this hard time. What can I say about my beautiful wife and best friend that you all haven't said, she was kind, sweet, the best mother and a fierce advocate for our daughter.  She always had time for Tyler and Pepper and loved everyone in our family.  I hope you all can come out and celebrate Del's Life at the Diplomat, Sunday April 7th at 1pm.

Dear Jamie, Tyler and Emily,
I worked with Del, at HHS in the Policy Dept, she was so welcoming to me and helpful.  Del always had a smile on her face, and knew so many people.  She was able to help those that were lost, other staff and especially me, I called your wife & Mom, Dellie.  I worked with Dellie in that little old library building and closely we all were a special team.  In 2008, my job and team ended, and I moved on with my career, I remained in touch with Del.  She was a giver and always generous of her time, energy & love to those that knew her.   We shared a love of red lipstick, hair and being friends.  I remember I had a garage sale, and she surprisingly came to visit me!  She was the only friend that came..that day.  I last emailed with Del, on January 16, 2019, I could never have imagined that would be her last communication to me.  The news of her passing was a complete shock.  Last year, I made Del, a  bracelet and it said "SuperMom" and she was so very dedicated to her family and put herself last.  I also called Del a Wonder Woman, and I found out she was on Halloween once.  Dellie, was a big giver of her time, attention & thoughts, especially to her family & friends.  Her thoughts would manifest into an action sometimes or idea and she always followed on the path she set out.  When Del had passed, she continued even further as a donor, to help patients to live & survive, that she did not even know, this was her last gift on earth.  To me, this rare and significant act, made me think of Del in a Divine brilliance.  She will have a very special place up in heaven, without any doubt.  When things went wrong, as they do, Del had so much resilience for the next day & ready to start anew with happiness.  I will never forget her and I am honored to have have known her & shared her experiences in life for over 10 years.  Blessings & peace to Jamie, Tyler & Emily with the loss of their very own Wonder Woman.

Had the pleasure of knowing Del from Idlewyld when she would come and visit her Mom. A Beautiful Lady that was so full of life. She spoke so fondly of her Family and always had a smile on her face. The world has certainly lost a Wonderful Person. My deepest condolences to her Family.

I am very sad to hear of Delphine's passing. It is difficult to believe that someone so full of life is no longer with us. We knew each other for many years having gone to elementary school together. I have fond memories of listening to music and dressing up in our Bay City Roller clothes lol. Recently we reconnected over facebook where we shared news of our families and teased each other about our favourite CFL teams since I am now a trader and a Rider fan. I am thankful to have known Del and be touched by her friendship and kind heart. My thoughts are with you all.

I first met Del at the hospital almost 13 years ago and we have been workmates & I like to think friends ever since.  Through 3 physical moves to different sites and umpteen computer upgrades we weathered it all (definitely some days better than others but usually there was a smile at the end of the day).  I felt privileged to have known her.  She was a true lady.
We shared bits and pieces of what was happening in each other’s lives over the years and many times it led to Del sending me a poem.  There were always the funny ones we loved to get each Christmas, but also some very poignant ones as well.  It didn’t seem to matter the topic; she said it relaxed her to write poetry.  I kept many of them from over the years and she always said it would be her pleasure if ever I wished to share.
I don’t remember how it came about, but this past December she sent me one titled, Each Time You Think of Me.  The first verse reads,
I have gone beyond the stars,
To where the heavens lie.
I have earned these angel wings,
And with them now I fly.
Del, my friend, you did earn those wings & I know you are “where the heavens lie" (with Snoopy in tow of course).

To James, Emily and Tyler,
My memories of Del go back to the early 1980's when our paths crossed as classmates in the Broadcast Journalism program at Mohawk College.  I have never seen or heard from or even thought of Del until I opened the newspaper yesterday and saw her radiant, bubbly and beautiful face attached to a very sad announcement.  

Although our worlds ceased to be connected after our Mohawk Collage days, its seems by the comments in this memorial that Del was a woman who gave generously, impacting people's lives with her vibrancy and unconditional friendship, just as I remember her all those years ago.

My sincere condolences on your loss and may your sweetest and fondest memories of Del guide you through these difficult days, and help you to cherish your time with her forever.

Very shocked and saddened to hear of Delphine’s sudden passing. I knew Delphine in grade school and we became good friends.  I loved her smile and laugh. Such a kind heart. Please accept my deepest condolences to the family.

My condolences go out to Delphine’s family. That is how I knew her Delphine Christiansen. I went to grade school with Delphine, over the years I would run in to her on Consession  street, Woolco mall, Henderson, St. Joes. Years would go by but it was like we had just seen each other the day before. I will always remember her huge smile, how kind and caring Delphine was. Something that always stuck in my mind was one day we ran in to each other and she said Debbie you won’t believe this my name now is Del Bell!!!
I will treasure my memories of Delphine.

My deepest sympathy to Margo and to all of Del's family. When I think of her,  I think of her love and patience she had with her Mom at Idyllwild. Whenever she came in  we all had such lovely chats as we each fed our respective ladies. I saw her love for her children each time she spoke of them. She is going to be so missed by her family and her coworkers. She was, indeed, a special lady.

It seems impossible that Del's bright and beautiful light is no longer illuminating the world. Sending you loving hugs and the knowledge that friends are holding you in their hearts - and struggling for words, although Del never did, with her timely and heartfelt poems always ready to burst forth! May you take the time you need and be gentle and patient with yourselves as you find your way through all that unexpectedly and heartbreakingly losing dear, lovely Del will mean. Such generosity, love, strength and sweetness were hers, and ours while she was with us. Here is a picture we have had of you and Del, James for years- it's from our stag and doe back in 2004. The tender way you have your hand on her shoulder communicates such love and respect.

I was so very sorry and shocked to read of Del's passing. I enjoyed and will always remember the chats we had while feeding lunch to our Moms at Idlewyld. Del was a kind and gentle lady. I hope that memories of happy times help to sustain you in your sadness.

There are no words to express my shock and sadness  hearing  of Del's passing. I had only met Del  back in 2014 but we always laughed  when on occasion we took the bus together from Chedoke Campus and then from the King West site . 
She spoke so lovingly and fondly of her family and we both shared our love of the Tiger Cats.  No matter how stressful her life was, she always had a smile and her laugh was infectious.

I was so sad to learn of Del's passing.  She was one of my very favourite people from Grade 13 at Southmount.  Our paths crossed numerous times in the many years since, through mutual friends at first, but then through her advocacy for children with autism.  Obviously, Emily was her main priority, but Del's knowledge, passion, and advocacy skills benefited so many young people.

My deepest sympathy to James, Emily, Tyler and Del's entire family and close friends.

I haven’t seen Del since I worked with Emily at Armstrong. I had no idea she was ill. Such an insidious disease that took my husband when he was 48. My thoughts and sympathies are with the family.

I am finding this very hard. I have been blessed in my time at HHS in different roles, to have worked with Del. My most important memories have little to do with that. I worked in building 74 at our Chedoke campus. Our autism program worked out of that building in my time there. I remember Del standing up to advocate when autism programs were threatened because of funding, in the Nash auditorium. That is when I felt her truth. That is when she became a friend. I miss her already.  I have wondered in recent weeks how she felt about the announced changes to the programs by the Ontario government. I never got to talk to her about that. 

My heart is broken💔.... too many memories. I remember when I met you in grade 6 and when you became a Candy Striper at the Henderson Hospital... I thought you were the smartest, coolest person I'd ever met. I will miss you forever... I love you,Del.... R.I.P.  My wonderful friend❤️❤️🥀

I am so sorry to hear about Del's passing.  We were work colleagues for many years at HHS and she was such a lovely person to work with, in all our dealings.  She will be missed by all that knew her.  Sending my deepest condolences to her family.  She left us far too soon.

As a neighbor Del was a ray of sunshine...she would come past the house, usually with Emily and her doll in tow..always a smile and hello while the whole time patiently answering Emily's many questions...i will miss her very much... love and comfort to her family and friends...

  There aren't any words to ease the awful pain you're all going through, but hopefully, over time, you'll be able to find some peace in the many great memories.  And also, that you're able to find some comfort from those who grieve with you.  Really sorry to hear this terrible news.

Please accept my most sincere condolences on the loss of Delphine.  I have had the pleasure of working with Del for the past three and a half years.  Not a day goes by that she does not make me smile or laugh.  She is the glue that holds our department together and will be greatly missed.  Everything from all of the Snoopies to playing the "let's see who receives the oddest request today"- she kept us on our toes.  Our little pod at King West will not be the same.

It has been such a privilege to know and work with Del. Didn't matter how rough things might be, she smiled warmly and always had a kind word. Del is genuinely beautiful inside and out and I will truly miss her. My deepest heartfelt condolences to those nearest and dearest to Del!

When Del and I first met at work we realized we both shared a love for collecting Snoopy and Peanuts characters.  We became fast friends enjoyed going out with Emily. I 'll miss you Del I will always remember you when I think of Snoopy.

Del was a natural spirit lifter and it seemed nothing could bring her down..we all drew inspiration from her work ethic and her strong love and dedication to her family. She will be sorely missed by all of us at HHS. We loved her very much and will continue to love her through all the great memories and her bubbly personality. 

Del and I worked together for a few years.  Our paths often crossed even after we began working in different departments.  She always had a smile for me, and we often shared stories, often about our families or her love of the TiCats. 

I feel very fortunate that Del shared her annual Christmas poem with me every year - I really enjoyed each poem and made a point of sharing it with my co-workers.  She would take something like "The Night Before Christmas" and turn it into a unique poem about her colleagues and work events.  Each year brought a new poem and it was obvious she really enjoyed writing it.  Del had a gift and a wonderful way with words, which is why she was so passionate about writing.   

I'll miss you Del.

Del, James, Rob & I were coming home from Toronto...trffic had completely stopped.  Us girls had to use the "ladies" really bad!  I remember Del was almost in tears, I took her by the hand, got out of the car and ran behind a dumpster.  All everyone could hear was Del laughing hysterically how "it"  was flowing down the driveway!  I will miss you Delphine, you had the most infectious laugh!  Goodbye My Friend!  Love, Heidi
