Derek Linton

Loving father to Leanne Linton and Stacie Pennisi (John); proud gramps to Liam; loving brother to Catherine (Fred); uncle to Quinn and Honor; great-uncle to Ethan; brother-in-law to Peter and long- time companion to Judy. Predeceased by his beloved wife Teresa, cherished grandson Brendan and his parents Sarah and Archie Linton. Derek was a 40-year employee of Stelco Hilton Works Metallurgical Department and proud member of Local 1005 Steelworkers Union. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital; CTU West Unit and the Firestone Clinic for the care they provided. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy and love for life will always live on. Due to Covid-19, all visitations and funerals are restricted to a specified number of attendees. All visitors will be required to wear a face covering, as well as provide name and telephone number to funeral home staff. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Monday, August 23, 2021 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Private family funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Lung Association.
