It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dexter Evelyn—a cherished son, devoted brother, loving Uncle and loyal friend—who left us far too soon. Dexter’s life was defined by kindness, dedication, and a deep love for the people and passions that shaped him.
Dexter built a meaningful career at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, where he was known for his strong work ethic, steady presence, and genuine care for others. His colleagues remember him not only for his professionalism, but for his warm smile and easy ability to brighten someone’s day.
A true sports enthusiast, Dexter’s heart belonged to football and, without question, to the Dallas Cowboys. Whether cheering from the stands, the couch, or the sidelines, his passion was unwavering.
Dexter poured that same love for the game into coaching. He proudly guided young athletes at Bishop Tonnos Catholic High School and with the Junior Ti-Cats, where he inspired countless players through mentorship, discipline, and heart. To many, he was more than a coach—he was a role model, a motivator, and a steady, supportive influence.
Above all, Dexter will be remembered for the love he shared with his family. As a son, brother and Uncle, he was dependable, caring, and fiercely loyal. His memory will continue to live on through the stories, laughter, and lessons he leaves behind.
Dexter’s legacy is one of compassion, commitment, and community. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Dexter is survived by his Mother Joan, brother Joel, cousin Craig , niece Tamia, Maria and numerous Uncles, Aunts and cousins.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation will be held at Cresmont Funeral Home Fennell Chapel, located at 322 Fennell Ave East, Hamilton on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place at Michelangelo Banquet Centre, 1555 Upper Ottawa Street, Hamilton on Wednesday, December 3rd from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
May he rest in peace.
