Donald John Kolenko

Life started for Donald J. Kolenko on April 10th 1935. Raised by his Slovenian parents; Kalman Kolenko and Martha (Vincec) in Hamilton, he grew up with his two amazing and loving sisters. First attending, Holy Rosary, Holy Family School and then Cathedral Boys. Playing almost every sport imaginable was a big part of his entire life. However, ice skating and hockey were his favourites. He always loved to be on the ice and especially liked watching his grandkids skate! What a perfect way to say goodbye to his loved ones and friends at the place he loved the most “The Rink”. Don’s down to earth personality will be missed by so many but eternally cherished by his; son Raphael, wife Mary (Hay) grandchildren Rachel, Samuel and Sophie, his loving sister Margaret Macdonald (Gord), predeceased by sister Blanche Peetz. Predeceased good friend Carol (Green) extended family Demetre, Amalia (Angel) and Tia.

Visitation will be held at the CRESTMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Ave. E on Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 with vigil prayers at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Service at Regina Mundi Church 631 Mohawk Road West 10:00 a.m. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, in lieu of flowers, donations to the heart and Stroke or charity of your choice. Reception to follow after cemetery, all are welcome!
