Donato Gentile Corbacio

It is with great pain and sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Donato Corbacio on September 29, 2015 at Hamilton General Hospital at the age of 82 and surrounded by his family. Loving husband of 60 years to Linda Corbacio (nee Porreca). Devoted father of Giacomo (Melissa), Luigi (Kathy) and Mary Ann. Adored Nonno of Lisanne (Kevin), Stephanie (Danny), Paul (Taylor), Bradley, Spencer, Shannon and Breann. Treasured brother to Michael (Concetta) Corbacio and brother-in-law to Umberto (the late Antoinette Corbacio) Cazzorla and Luigi Dragone (the late Porzia Corbacio). He will be missed by many nieces and nephews in Italy and Canada. Donato son of Giacomo and Mary Corbacio, born on April 22, 1933. Prior to coming to Canada he served in the Italian army. In 1956, Donato immigrated to Canada where he made Hamilton his home. He retired after 32 years of service at Slater Steel and became a member of Rosedale Bocce Association; he leaves behind many friends. He was passionate about his family, garden, homemade wine, the discovery channel, love for sports, especially soccer, and the Montreal Canadiens. He is loved dearly and we will miss his witty zest for life. Family and friends can visit at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Saturday October 3 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm with prayers at 6:30 and Sunday October 4 from 2-4 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 128 Edgemont Street S., Hamilton on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 10:00 am with entombment to follow at Bayview Cemetery, Burlington.
