Elda Ferrara

It's with a heavy heart we announce the peaceful passing of Elda Ferrara, on January 21, 2022 at Hamilton General Hospital, at the age of 91 with her loving and devoted daughter, Evelyn Di Filippo at her side. Elda will now be reunited with her husband of 60 years, Antonio "Tony" Ferrara. Loving mother of Evelyn (Philip) and cherished Nonna to Pauline, Anthony (Marissa), and Phil Jr. (Jessica). Elda will be greatly missed by her dear sisters Linda Corbacio (the late Dino) and Mafalda and her sister-in-law Hazel Porreca. Elda was predeceased by her brothers Marziale and Frank and sisters Emma, Delia and Gilda. Elda is celebrated for the great influence she had on the lives of her family as she was an integral part of making them who they are. Their traditions, work ethic, love of food, and love of family, all stem from Elda's generous, thoughtful, and at times quirky personality. We would like to express our thanks to the nurses and social workers at the Hamilton General Hospital as well as Elda's caring pharmacist, Salima at the Axis Remedy. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, 200 Mount Albion Road, Hamilton on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 11 am. Entombment in Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome to view a livestream of the Mass on Elda’s page at markeydermody.com.
