Elizabeth "Betty" Abraham

Peacefully, surrounded by her family, following a recent stroke, at St. Joseph's Hospital on Friday, January 10, 2014 in her 98th year, Betty entered into the presence of God through her faith in Christ. Beloved wife of the late Walter (2001). Loved mother of Walter and his wife Lynda, Gail Mulzer and her husband Ian McPhee and Gord and his wife Ruth. Loving grandmother of Shelley Jabs (Dan), Tracey, Matthew, Trevor (Kathy), Phil, Lia Bunting (Paul), Heidi Veri (Jake), Jonathan McPhee (Yuka), Angela Wolstenholme (James), Tim (Cheryl), Mark (Chandra), Elizabeth (Scott Johnstone), Jonathan (Ashlee) and 19 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by brothers Franklin Hicks, Ted Hicks, Earl Hicks, Benjamin Hicks and sisters Gwen Falconer and Clara Kirwin. Very much loved by her nieces and nephews. Betty was known for her smile and laugh, her caring and warmth, her sense of humour and her gift of listening. Friends may call at the CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue East on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service from West Highland Baptist Church, 1605 Garth Street, on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. with reception to follow. Memorial donations may be made to Missions Services, Hughson Street Baptist Church or the Dream Centre, which were all close to Betty's heart.
