It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Elsie, at her home on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the age of 61. Beloved wife of Joe for 38 wonderful years. Loving and devoted mother of Mark, Robert and Marina Validzic (Damir). Cherished daughter of Violanda (the late Bosko). Elsie will be dearly missed by her sister Mary and her brother Joseph (Laura). Also survived by her mother-in-law Barbara (the late Matt) and sister-in-law Lillian Stajduhar (Damir). She will always be lovingly remembered by her aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends in Canada and Croatia. Elsie was an active member of the C.F.U. Lodge 954, Croatian National Home as well as the Croatian Women's Bowling and Bocce Leagues in Hamilton. A loving wife, mother and friend. She will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved her. Visitation at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm. Vigil Prayers at 3 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 135 Livingston Avenue, Grimsby on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 1 pm. Cremation to follow. If desired, donations can be made to the Croatian National Home Building Fund or the C.F.U. Scholarship Fund in Elsie's memory.
