Elvira Primavera

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elvira Primavera peacefully on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton in her 86th year. Predeceased by her parents Costantino and Adelina DeAngelis. Loving and beloved wife to Joseph for 62 wonderful years. Dedicated mother to Marco (Diane) and Silena (Eddy). Proud and loving Nonna to Katie, Daniel, Abby and Lucas. Sister to Salvatore DeAngelis (deceased) (Rina), Maria Ciamacco (Antonio – deceased) and Elina DeAngelis (Gabrielle) and in-laws Lina DiBernardo (Vincenzo - deceased), Gina Centofanti (Adamo). She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, especially Danila and Peter Ciamacco.

In 1954, Elvira left Introdacqua, Italy to come to Canada. In addition to being a wonderful mother, she was an accomplished seamstress, dressmaker, homemaker and cook. She and her husband Joe loved raising their children, maintaining their home and vast gardens and preparing feasts for family and friends. She loved sharing stories of the old country and singing her favourite Italian tunes. Elvira was a devoted wife, mother and Nonna.

Elvira and her family extend deepest gratitude to the wonderful nursing and support staff from Bayshore, CBI and the medical team at Juravinski ICU and Ward E3. We also thank the many loving family members, friends and neighbours who were a source of great comfort. A special thank you to Anna, Melissa, Stacey, Donna, Lisa, Gina Susi, Phil and Gloria Castrodale and our little girl next door Julia for their tender care and support.

Visitation will be held at MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Prayers at 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke's Catholic Church on Wednesday, November the 2, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery.
