With sadness, we announce the passing of George Alfred Leaist, age 86, of Hamilton, Ontario, on Monday, October 14, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his best friend and wife, Barbara. Dear father of Kim (Victor Franc) and Carolyn (Tony Mulé). Cherished Papa to Brady (Sarah) and Marisa. Dear friend of Pat McLeod. George leaves behind many friends and family. Proud retiree of Stelco of 30+ years. Special thanks to all the staff at Macassa Lodge for their care and compassion during his time there, and a very special thank you to the staff on C2 East for going above and beyond. Visitation will take place on Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm at Cresmount Funeral Home (322 Fennell Ave. E., Hamilton, 905-387-2111). Funeral service in the chapel on Monday, October 21, 2024 at 11:00 am with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
