Geraldine Adam

On October 22, 2011, in her 91st year, surrounded by her loved ones, after a full and blessed life, Geraldine passed away peacefully at Willowgrove LTC Residence in Ancaster. Beloved wife of the late Howard (1979), and predeceased by her son Norman (1994), she will be missed by her children Ken (Karen), Babe (Marlene), Shirley, Denis, Louise (Philip Samek), and Marcel (Denise). Loving grandmother of Johanna (Gabriel), Jesse Bolan (Reneé), Carol, Jeffrey (Kim), Troy, Terry Lynn, Christopher, Amanda Raimundo (Mark), Kenny, Kelsey, David, Jake, Lacey, Travis, Adam,and Sophie. Cherished great-grandmother to Madeleine, Declan, Robyn, Charlotte, Georgia, and Jackson. She will also be missed by sisters-inlaw Lucille Adam-René, Annette St- Jarre, Thérèse Gagné and long time friend Georgette Cailhier. Always close to her heart and remaining in her thoughts by Lucie and family, and Christine and family in Quebec. Lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to all the staff at Willowgrove. Geraldine will be fondly remembered by her friends from the French community and the Club de l'Age d'Or. There aren't many women who still look fabulous in their 90's... Geraldine was the exception. Always fashion forward and looking her finest with a hand-crafted wardrobe that would make top designers jealous. Born in Jonquiere, Quebec in 1921 into a family of five children, Geraldine quickly learned how to make the most out of living in a remote community. At an early age, her mother taught her the craft of making the best of what you have and throughout her life she shared that wisdom. Her wonderful spirit and great recipes will live long in our hearts. Visitation will be held at MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton (near the Kenilworth Access) on Tuesday, October 25th, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers on Tuesday at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Notre Dame du Perpetuel Secours, 243 Cumberland Avenue, on Wednesday.
