Helen McGuire Gordon

Helen was born in Glasgow, Scotland on June 11, 1925 to Catherine (O'Connor) and Hugh McGuire, both predeceased. She passed away peacefully at the village of Wentworth Heights on Monday January 9, 2012, with her son Geoffrey by her side. She is survived by her sons Brian (wife Carol and his children Jonathan, John-Paul (wife Melissa and daughter Arianne), Adrian, Madeleine and Celeste and Geoffrey (wife Becky and son Evan). Helen was a little ball of energy and delighted in dancing, gardening, listening to her Big Band jazz and looking after her Grandchildren. Helen lived through the war time bombing of Glasgow. While her father served as a petty officer on the battleship HMS King George V and brothers Hugh (predeceased) as infantry men, Helen and her younger brother John (predeceased) were cared for by her mother after evacuating the city. Helen will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held at the Cresmount Funeral Home, 1020 Upper James St., on Saturday January 14, from 12 noon until service time at 2 p.m. Interment White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
