Passed away peacefully with family by her side at Chartwell Oakville Retirement Residence on Friday February 25, 2022 at the age of 96. Beloved wife of 70 years to Ivan. Dear mother to Sonya (Frank) and Daniel (Marika). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Matthew (Laura), Nicole (Maciej), Marcus (Caroline), Krista, Alexa and Lukas. She will be missed by her great-grandchildren Grayson, Jackson, Hudson, Damian, Naomi, Gabriel, Florence and Charlotte. Pre-deceased by her brothers Boris Madon and Oscar Madon. She will be missed by family in Slovenia, Italy, Ottawa and Montreal. The family would like to express appreciation to all the staff at Chartwell as well as Mississauga Halton LHIN and Palliative Care Team.

Due to COVID-19, all events are restricted to a specified number of attendees, there is no registration required. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Monday from 4-7 p.m. with prayers at 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Slovenian Church, 125 Centennial Parkway North in Hamilton, on Tuesday March 1, 2022 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
