Ivan Bencetic

Ivan is predeceased by his parents, Josip and Marija (née Klepić).

He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 46 years, Marica (née Išlić); his daughters, Anna (Shaun) and Christina (Tommy); and his cherished granddaughter, Emily. He is also dearly missed by his extended family, in-laws, kumovi, and friends in both Canada and Draganić, Croatia, as well as his former coworkers at Dofasco. He will be remembered for his many passions, including auto mechanics, music, hunting, carpentry, winemaking, and curing meats.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff of the Juravinski Hospital Emergency Department, 3C, and Cancer Clinic, as well as to Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice, for their care and support.

Visitation at Markey Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton, on Tuesday, March 31 from 5-9 p.m. with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Catholic Church, 1883 King Street East, Hamilton, on Wednesday, April 1 at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery.
