Ivan Podvorac

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ivan Podvorac on January 5, 2023 at the age of 79, with his wife and grandson by his side. Ivan was a devoted and beloved husband and best friend of Nada for 55 years. Cherished and loving father of his predeceased son Elvis (2020) who he loved unconditionally. Dearest grandfather to Brendan and Alexa. He will be greatly missed by his cousin Nada Ujevic, sister-in-law Mary Malcic (Steve) and nephews Adrian and Eric, as well as other extended family and friends. Ivan retired as a respected and skilled machinist with 44 years of service from Siemens, Fruitland Tool and Fabris. Ivan was a kind, quiet and gentle soul who always put his family first above all else. He is now reunited with his son Elvis who has been in his heart every minute of his life. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Monday, January 9 from 2-7 pm with Rosary at 6 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Church, 1883 King Street East, on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 10 am. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery.
