Thank you, Tracey for sharing that your dear father had winged his flight to another kingdom. I remember visiting your warm home as a child and how kind Ivor and Auntie Irene were. My thought go out to you. He is in a better place. God be with you. Smile.

Ivor aka Pa,

I’m going to miss you.  Ivor’s daily  sometimes several times a day calls to Tracey with weather and road conditions are missed. He probably saved us a 100 hours in driving over the years. I felt his worry over the phone!  Ivor’s love and caring were always felt.  I hope he left his secret of picking winning numbers with you, Irene ! I know his beautiful smile is shinning in Heaven.  My deepest condolences to Irene, Tracey and Family ❤️

Even though we did not grow together; Ivor was old enough to be my father; from the moment we met 12 years ago, he made me feel like an old friend. His warm personality, and ever present smile put people at ease. His sense of humor was very reliable, and witty. One of the things I will miss about my brother, is Ivor's ability to recall people, time and place. He has left a void in one form or another, in regard to those who knew him. On a personal note, he was the Peterkin family's historian; familiar with a long line of paternal relatives; names, spouses, children, profession etc. No one can replace him in that role, which is quite unfortunate.

Most importantly though, are the lessons I learned from Ivor; life lessons. The main Ivor Peterkin lesson is love. He was a very compassionate man who cared deeply for his family, and those around him; neighbors, and acquaintances were an extended family if you will. When he asked about you, or your family a genuine concern was detected. He walked quietly in life, did his best, and was a credit to his wife Irene, the rest of his family, community, and his nation. Ivor was very contented with his life, and enjoyed a good joke. He also delivered a few of his own. I cannot not forget my last conversation with him. He had no fear; totally ready, and even looking forward to his transition into the spirit world.

During the short time I had with Ivor, by virtue of distance apart, most of it was spent on the telephone and it was always a pleasure talking, listening to, and learning from him. I felt blessed as a relative, because he was a blessing; a man who loved his family, and they loved him back. According to Irene, and Tracey who were there, his end was beautiful and so fitting for a beautiful soul. I will remember the peaceful warrior that was Ivor.  May the Lord God, recognize him as his son, embrace him, and welcome him into his Kingdom.

Dear Grandpa,
Even though we wasn’t very close I’m glad I got the chance to meet you when me and my family spent the weekend with you in Canada. It was a very special moment for me. There were times were you gives us a call and we talked on the phone for hours. And you would shoot me up a text about every once a year. However you did struggled a lot and if this was god’s decision to make a better plan for you then it’s best to let it be. Love always , Preston I know you and my mom always discuss about god all the time🙏 

Father you are my confidence, firm and strong you keep my foot from being caught in a trap or hidden danger Father, you give me safely and ease me as I go. Let me pass over to the siole, and I have what I say. I walk on my way, securely an in confident trust, for my heart and mind are firmly fixed and stayed on you, and I am kept in perfect peace. 
  Father, I sing for Joy upon my bed because you sustain me, In peace I lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safely. I lie down, and I am not afraid. I'm glad that we got the chance to spend sometime together.

At Bluefields Beach we've had a lot of fun.

He took me on site seeing to view Niagara Falls.

My dad, Ivor St. Francis Peterkin, we did not share many physical memories together, those are the most hurtful to me as a son because we lived so far apart, but one thing I can say about my dad is that he left an encouraging spiritual mark on me. An example I want to follow for the rest of my life. 

The things of this earth are so temporal and he encourage me about the things that are eternal. A measure of a real man is that he was not shy to share his faith in Christ and my dad stood tall for that! I will miss the long phone call we had when we connect, it was like they never had any ending. R.I.P. dad your memory will always live on in our 💕 

Ivor was a good man. A decent person who it was my privilege to know. My condolences to Miss Irene, his children, family and friends. May God grant you the strength, peace and tranquility you need as you go  through this difficult time.

Dear Grandpa, 

     Many people don’t get to meet or know their grandparents, and many don’t get ones this special.  I am eternally grateful I got to know you. My grandfather was sweet and kind. He cared deeply, and his love was unconditional. He would cry every time we left Canada and made sure to drive us out to the highway for a proper goodbye. Grandpa would call every year on each of our birthdays and sing  the birthday song for me as he played his organ.  I will remember all of our memories together and cherish them for the rest of my life. You live on in our hearts, minds and memories. I love and miss you forever, my big belly Grandpa.

Mr. Peterkin you have fought a good fight, but the Lord saw it fit to call you home. Your memories will live on in your family which include my dearest friend Bev. We could always  depend on your knowledge of the roadways from NY to Toronto, especially how to avoid the tolls. Take your rest until we meet again.

Daddy you were the kindness, loving and most considerate person anyone could ask for. You had an impeccable memory up until the day you took your last breath. You never forgot a birthday, we all could depend on you to play our annual birthday song from your organ . You were our GPS from New York to Hamilton,  calculating all the rest stops and service stations for us, even the amount of toll we had to pay. We could always depend on you to cry at the end of each visit to see you,  hence the name ‘cry cry baby from your granddaughter.  We all had some good visits with unforgettable memories that we will cherish in our hearts forever. It’s really really sad to see you go . We miss you immensely. We know you are in a better place. You have kept the faith and have finished the race in style.  Sleep on in God’s arms Dad. 

May you be comforted  knowing he is at peace. Cherish the memories and be strong during your time of bereavement!

A man of grace and courage. Ivor believed in family. It was is life's mission to keep family together.  He enjoyed taking pictures and sharing with family. He will be greatly missed by his family and all the people that had a chance to meet him. May the peace that surpasses all understanding be with us all.

I have such fond memories of our road trips between Brooklyn and Canada and the preparation, anticipation and excitement that would come with them.  We would pack up the night before and be fully stocked with sandwiches and snacks and get up at 4 or 5 in the morning and leave in the dark for the 9 hour trip. You knew every road, every highway and the best routes to take when. Then there was your music, older unfamiliar tunes of assorted country, Rhythm and Blues and who could forget Elvis.  The most fun was your CB Radio and your chats with other drivers and  truckers. I thought that was the most amazing invention. These memories are forever a part of me and I will miss you greatly...

Dear Irene and Tracey, We are so saddened by my brother/uncle Ivor’s passing. We can remember your family visiting us in Brooklyn, where we had great times filled with Ivor’s laughter. He often recalled and told humorous stories about his experiences. We will always love, remember and miss him dearly. We wish you peace, comfort and great memories as you grieve your loss.
