Words cannot express how broken our hearts are at the passing of our beloved Jim on August 18, 2016. Cherished, loving and devoted husband of 44 years to Deborah (Gallea). Extremely loving and proud father of Natasha and Lindsay (Lee Robertshaw) and loving grandpa, mentor and best friend to Kobe. Loving brother to Jane Garbarz (Henry) and Linda. Loving brother-in-law to the Gallea Family. Jim was the owner of Durham Furniture and Appliances on King Street East in Hamilton for over 40 years. His passions included sailing, scuba diving, skiing, golfing, trap shooting, hunting with his father, and most of all, spending time with his family. He and Kobe enjoyed spending many hours setting up and playing with their train collection. His wisdom, kindness and generosity touched the lives of everyone he knew. He modelled everything he taught us. We were honoured and truly blessed to have called him ours. Though our eyes are filled with tears we rejoice in knowing he is no longer in pain or suffering from appendix cancer. A very special thank you to Dr. Bonnie Loewith and the nurses of ParaMed (especially Maurizio) for their dedication and excellent care to Jim. A Celebration of Jim's life will take place on Thursday, August 25 at 2pm at West Highland Baptist Church on Garth Street in Hamilton. Private family interment at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
