James passed away peacefully at Macassa Lodge in Hamilton at the age of 81. Born in Vancouver to Sadajiro and Chiyo Kamibayashi, James was brother to the late Fred (Joy), the late Betty, Sally Masuda (Roy), Shirley Matsunaga (Ray) and Anne Dunham (George). He leaves a number of nieces, nephews and their children. James worked 47 years at the Canadian Tire store located on Main Street in Hamilton. He was that quiet gentle clerk who greeted everyone with a big warm smile. He loved his job. Anyone who regularly shopped there would remember him. Thanks to all the staff Macassa Lodge for their support and compassionate care. Visitation will take place at the Marlatt Funeral Home, 615 Main Street East (east of Sanford Ave.), Hamilton, on Tuesday November 18 from 2p.m. – 4p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Marlatt Memorial Chapel on Tuesday November 18 at 7 p.m. Interment at Woodland Cemetery, Burlington, will take place on Wednesday, November 19 at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers or Koden, donations to the Hamilton Japanese United Church or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
