FORSBERG, Janet Dunbar (nee Scott) It is with great sadness to announce that Janet passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at the age of 83. Janet was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, where she spent the first 25 years of her life. She volunteered with the ambulance services during World War II transferring the wounded to hospital. She was also employed by Brown Brothers and Ferranti Scotland. Along with her parents, David and Janet Scott, she moved to Hamilton in 1952. David arrived ahead of his wife and daughter, and not yet having a vehicle of his own, asked the aid of a young man in picking them up at the train station upon their arrival. Janet married the young man, John Forsberg, on September 21, 1956. They were married for 41 years until his death on October 1, 1997. Much loved and sadly missed by daughter Adele (Casey and Cassandra). Dear sister- in-law to Mary Forsberg, Ann and Sarfraz Wahid and her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother-in-law Eric, nephew, Greg, and her best friend, Patricia Wright. Janet enjoyed her work with the Order of the Eastern Star for many years and served as Worthy Matron on two occasions with Iris Chapter and ended her years of service as a member of Edgemount Chapter. Her family appreciates and would like to thank the Simonffys, Frasers, Hampsons and many other friends and neighbours for the ongoing care and support they gave to Janet. Our sincerest thanks to Dr. Mary Peat and Patricia, C.C.A.C., especially Tina, CBI Home Health and Bayshore Home Health. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2010, at 3 p.m. at Cresmount Funeral Home, 1020 Upper James St., Hamilton, 905-575-1154. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. "You were always admired for your strength and your courage." I love and miss you, Mom
