Passed away peacefully, on Saturday, December 17, 2011 in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Louie for 66 years. Loving mother of Earl and grandmother of Kristen Tetley (Colin) and Lisa Penick (Jim Nolan), loved mother-in-law of Leslie. Great-grandmother of Carissa. Loved by many nieces and nephews. Jeanne was the owner of Art with Flowers by Jeanne Penick until 1973, taught floraculture at Briarwood School for 12 years, was the first female President of UFC and member and Past-President of the Anglican Business Women’s Association. Jeanne was an avid bid-euchre player and will be missed by many at Halls Lake. She was also a longtime devoted member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 from 10:45 am until 11:15 am followed by the Funeral Service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 11:30am. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Donations to Jeanne's favourite charity, the Canadian Cancer Society, would be greatly appreciated
