Joanna was a devoted and loving wife to Jamiu Amusa, and a deeply cherished mother to J’Adore, Nashawna, and Rowmario. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her heart into every moment spent with them. She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by her siblings, cousins, extended family, colleagues, and countless friends whose lives she touched in meaningful ways. Joanna was a cherished daughter to Lennox Fergus and was predeceased by her beloved mother, Cheryl Roberts. Adored sister to Mikey and Lionel.
For many years, Joanna worked as a Personal Support Worker, a role that perfectly reflected her compassionate spirit. She brought comfort, dignity, and warmth to those in her care, treating each person not just as a client, but as family. Her kindness left a lasting imprint on the lives she served, and her dedication made a true difference in her community.
Joanna will be remembered for her heart of gold, her radiant smile, and her joyful, contagious energy. She carried herself with a rare gentleness and a non-judgmental nature that made everyone feel seen and valued. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—capturing moments through photographs, preparing generous meals, and bringing people together. Her home, and often her table, were always open, reflecting her selfless and giving spirit.
Though her time with us was far too short, Joanna’s love and light will continue to live on in all who knew her. Her legacy is one of compassion, strength, and unwavering love. Special thanks to the staff at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice for their exceptional care and support.
