ROUKEMA, Joey On Wednesday, October 17, 2012, Joey Roukema was taken as another victim of cancer. He fought a courageous battle, never losing his hope or humour. All too soon, his time here ended, leaving many of us to ask why. He is survived by his wife, Nicole and two kids, Alysha and Steven. Also survived by his parents, Bill and Gerda, his sisters, Cheryl (Bryan), Lori-Lynn (James) and Melanie (Chad). In-laws Mildred and Lawrence Colford. Sister-in-law Paula (late Jim Seeley) and nephews, Jeff, Jon and Chris, and many more relatives and friends who will mourn his loss. He was cared for in his time of need by his loving wife as well as the staff of Juravinski Cancer Centre Ward C3, whose care and compassion eased his suffering. Joey, who had a love for life, hopes all who read this consider his last words... "Cancer Sucks! Get tested!" Visitation will take place Saturday, October 20th at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Ave. East from 1-3 p.m. with memorial service to follow in the Chapel at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted to The Juravinski Cancer Centre.
