John Robert Kovich

It is with sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of John on April 10, 2014 in his 87th year. Beloved and devoted husband of Anne for 61 years. Loving and cherished father to Linda (Mike), Gerry (the late Lisa). Much loved grandfather of Jaclyn (Bill), Bobby, John (Lisa), Craig and Tammy-Lee). Proud great-grandfather of Jace, Theron and Baeden. John worked at Stelco for over 30 years and enjoyed a long retirement of over 40years. Through his life John always cherished the times he spent with family and friends, going on trips, playing golf and watching the game of his life “Hockey”. John will always be remembered for his kind and caring heart, easy disposition, sense of humour and beautiful smile. Special thanks to Dr Benger, the Juravinski Staff on C4 and the staff of Linhaven Convalescent Care for there are and respect of a truly great man. Family and friends are welcome to visitation at the MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Saturday from 6-9pm and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil prayers on Sunday at 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Lukes Church (200 Mt Albion) on Monday April 14, 2014 at 10am. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity close to your own heart would be appreciated.
